Support is provided to individual target group members wishing to return to education or undertake training to improve employment prospects.
As well as the provision of information, advice and guidance, financial assistance is given under the:
• Specialised Applied Training Fund • Childcare Fund • Millennium Partnership Fund
Specialised Applied Training Fund
Established with Pobal and Department of Social and Family Affairs funding support, it aims to provide financial assistance towards the cost of course fees. Clients must be at least 6 months in receipt of a social welfare payment in order to qualify for assistance.
Childcare Fund
Aims to help cover the cost of childcare for eligible parents undertaking full or part-time education or training, with career progression potential, where the funding of childcare costs is a barrier to progression. Clients must be at least 6 months in receipt of a social welfare payment in order to qualify for assistance and cannot be availing of funding from any other source, e.g. VTOS.
