Employability Monaghan (formerly Monaghan Supported Employment Service) is an employment and recruitment service designed to assist jobseekers with a disability to secure and maintain employment.
Employability Monaghan has 5 job coaches, based in Monaghan, Clones, Carrickmacross, Castleblayney and Ballybay, who offer a range of supports to both jobseekers and employers throughout the County.
This is provided using a structured process that includes:
• Needs Assessment
• Vocational Profiling and Career Planning
• Individual Employment Plan
• Job Sourcing and Job Matching
• On the job support and coaching
• Advice and Support to Employers
• Follow-up support and mentoring to both employees and employers
Employment Grants and Supports
FAS provides a range of employment supports aimed to assist employees with a disability to gain and retain employment.
Wage Subsidy Scheme
Financial assistance to employers to encourage them to employ people with disabilities.
Workplace Equipment/Adaptation Grant (WEAG)
This provides funding for employers hiring a person(s) with a disability who require specialised equipment or adaptations to the workplace to make it more accessible.
Job Interview-Interpreter Grant (JIIG)
Under this employers can receive a grant for an interpreter to accompany a person with a speech or hearing impairment.
Personal Reader Grant
This provides funding to employ a personal reader to assist someone who is blind or visually impaired in their work.
Employee Retention Grant Scheme
Assistance to employers to help retain employees who become disabled through sickness or injury.
Disability Awareness Training for Employers
Grants for employers towards the cost of disability awareness training for staff.
